Specimen Collection Requirements:
Phlebotomist Instructions: Collect sample Monday - Friday ONLY if received in Main Lab by 2.00pm. Do NOT 
collect on Saturday or day before Public Holiday.

Due to sample viability best results can be obtained if specimen is taken in the 
morning.
Sample Type:

2x Mauve (EDTA) tube 4.0mL

Minimum Sample Volume: 1mL
Unacceptable Samples: Do not centrifuge, separate or refrigerate.
Alternative Blood Tubes: Bone Marrow Aspirate
Pre-Analytical Storage Requirements: Room temperature. DO NOT REFRIGERATE
Transport Requirements: Ambient
Referred Specimens:
Preferred Aliquot: Primary EDTA tube.
Pre-Transport Requirements to Reference Lab: Room temperature. DO NOT REFRIGERATE.
Transport Requirements to Reference Lab: Send same day to Wellington Lab with count and film.
