Aotea’s commitment to continual improvement acknowledged

Aotea recently passed its annual laboratory accreditation surveillance assessment and, once again, had no corrective action requests.

Procedures and systems in the laboratory and collection centres were scrutinised by International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) to ensure we continued to meet medical testing standard ISO15189.

The assessment noted our well-developed systems and several projects we have underway or planned that demonstrate our “commitment to continual improvement”.

IANZ also noted that Aotea’s commitment to “providing a quality service ... was evident throughout”.

Our laboratory was described as having a positive attitude towards a well developed and well-established quality management system.

We are pleased that IANZ has recognised the work that goes on continually behind the scenes here to ensure Aotea Pathology provides a high quality service. It is, of course, work that will continue this year and into the future.
