Head of Department, Histology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Department, Histology, to join Aotea Pathology’s leadership team. In this rewarding role you will lead, manage and develop the Histology department, and you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall direction and management of Aotea Pathology.
This integral position will be filled by a highly skilled registered medical laboratory scientist with extensive experience in Histology, who as a manager works collaboratively with others, fostering a positive team environment within the department and across the wider organisation.
The ideal candidate will have proven management experience within the medical laboratory environment, including:
- The ability to lead and motivate a team of technical staff to sustain high standards of quality and performance
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- An unswerving commitment to indentifying opportunities for continuous system and process improvement, and the drive to implement innovative solutions that deliver positive outcomes across the laboratory and for our customers
- Strong technical skills with proven experience in managing quality, problem solving and decision making, even when under pressure
- Experience in planning and organising people, financial and physical resources to achieve departmental goals.
This permanent full-time position is based in our modern and progressive central Wellington laboratory on Courtenay Place. Your pay and benefits will reflect the skills and experience you bring to the role.
