Keep focused on your resolutions
(Inside Aotea, February 2010)
Welcome to the first edition of Inside Aotea for 2010. I trust that your new year has started well and that you are managing to keep to any resolutions you made at the start of the year!
Those age-old resolutions that many people make — to get fit, eat more healthily and cut down on alcohol — may not be original but they are very sensible and can only do good things for your mind and body. I would encourage you to stick at them for as long as you can. The health tips in this newsletter offer some advice along those lines that you may find helpful.
Here at Aotea Pathology our resolution for 2010 is one that we make every year and enjoy living up to because it revolves around the services we offer you.
That resolution is aiming for continuous improvement in all our services. Already, this year, we are working on a number of initiatives to improve the way we do things. One is a total redesign of our website to make it easier for all our patients and doctors to find the ever-growing amount of health-related resources on the site. We hope to publish the new site in a couple of months.
Investment in new technology is another key area for ongoing improvement, and this year one of our more high-profile investments is completing the implementation of our new digital screening system for cervical smears. The system is giving greater accuracy in diagnosis and has helped deliver more certainty to our cytology patients.
Enjoy 2010 and this edition of Inside Aotea.
