Top tips for using eLab

eLab is our new online tool that lets you enter test requests straight into our system. We have now installed
it at more than half of our referring practitioners.

To help you get the most out of the system, here are five useful tips.

eLab tips

1. Bill type

Change the bill type to the most accurate description (for example, ‘employment or travel related testing’) to avoid any surprise charges to your patients.

2. More tests

Can’t find a test? Click on more tests to look for tests by department, or search for them
using the search box.

3. Pathology Test Guide

Very useful and handy information, including test reference ranges and turnaround times.  You can find this on our website or by individual test on the more tests screen.

4. Profiles

Profiles make it quicker and easier to set up screening tests when several tests are required. Have a quick read of the user guide for instructions on how to set up profiles.

5. Troubleshooting

Refer to your user guide, read the FAQs or call our dedicated eLab helpdesk team: 04 381 5904. The user guide is also online at www.apath.co.nz/elab.
